- "Marietta, 1892. First plant of the McNeel Marble Company, which was bought from the McClatchey Brothers in 1892. (They had also been running it as marble plant.) Crew of the first plant. Marble plant is located on Whitlock Avenue where DuPre's store is now. McNeel Marble Company went out of existence in 1960. The company worked totally on monuments.
