- "Acworth, August 24, 1950. A part of the 55 pounds of fish taken from "Beautiful Lake Acworth" after poison was used in a spot check survey of the lake to count them. More than 9400 fish were brought in "Monday and Tuesday." Picture appeared August 24, 1950 in Volume 5 #8 of Acworth Progress. Development of Lake Acworth (325 acres) the result of Acworth sub-dam in Allatoona Reservoir, built by U.S. Engineers."--from field notes
