- Moultrie, early 1930s. Swift and Company Stockyard. The Swift and Company packing plant, located on North Main Street, can be seen at center rear. The plant originally operated as Moultrie Packing Company from December 1914 until June 1917 when it was bought by Swift and Company. This company's operation in Moultrie was referred to as, "The Little Chicago of the South." For another view of the stockyard see clq134.
The photograph was taken by Nat Wigginton, who was of the Studio Huber Building, Moultrie, Ga. at the time the photograph was taken.
