- Colquitt County, ca. 1900-1910. William Warren Ashburn, founder of the first banking company in Moultrie, the Moultrie Banking Company, also served as first president of the company. Ashburn, along with W. C. Vereen, helped to found Moultrie Cotton Mills and had interests in timber and naval stores as well. The city of Ashburn, Georgia, seat of Turner County, was named for this gentleman.
