- "Bowdon, about 1899. Family of William Thomas Johnson, Sr. (left): left to right Charlsie Vance Johnson (third wife); Ruth Johnson (Landers) and Nellie Johnson (Waller) (children of Charlsie and W. T.); Nelah Belle Johnson (Alsobrook), William Thomas Johnson, Jr. (father of Eleanor Johnson Eldredge (Mrs. Paul)), and Henry Colquitt Johnson (children of William Thomas and second wife Susan Isabella Colquitt Johnson). Horses are Dan and Ben. Taken at the William Thomas Johnson, Sr. house. William Thomas Johnson owned store. House was rolled off to make way for newer house in 1907. Older house was home of William Thomas Johnson, Jr. and family when they were young."--from field notes
