- Carrollton, 1913 Apr. 26. Carrollton Public School with students seen in front of it. The public school concept began in Carrollton in 1887. Grammar school and high school students attended classes in the same building. The structure in this photograph may have been the brick building located on College Street, which was constructed in 1898 to house the school.
