- Carroll County, ca. 1935. Abe Bonner, a former slave, was raised on the plantation owned by Thomas Bonner, which was located where West Georgia College is now. He went with his master during the Civil War. Abe Bonner lived to be 107 years old. This photograph was taken when he was 100 years old or older. Note the well that he is standing beside.
