The home was completed ca. 1876-1878. The home is modeled after the home of his wife's uncle, Robert Toombs, of Washington, Ga. Mr. Jones's daughter, Minnie Toombs Cox, owned it next. In 1950 the home was purchased by Robert C. Neely who restored the inside. Mr. Neely called his home The Shadows. Mr. J. Horne, the current owner, is restoring the home further.
