- Winder, Sept. 1970s. Banner stretches across Ga. Highways 53 and 11 going north, which reads, "Winder Lions Fair, Sept. 16-22." At the left is the railroad station. Due to the decline of passenger service, the passenger stations was given to the city in the mid-1970s. After its renovation, it was occupied by the Winder-Barrow Chamber of Commerce and the Barrow County Historical Society.
