- Description:
- Winder, ca. 1949. People gathered for the opening of the Farmers Mutual Exchange, located at the corner of Midland Avenue and Broad Street. From the sign painted on the building, the exchange evidently functioned as a co-op for cotton producers and, perhaps, for growers of other crops. Smith Electric Company occupies building at left. This may have at one time been a railroad depot.
