- Description:
- Barrow County, 1945. William H. Davis Lummus Automatic Cotton Ginning System, located on U.S. Highway 29 across from the G.W. Summerour & Company, Inc. Man stands next to the Lummus Electrical Feeder. Cotton can be seen being procesed through this piece of machinery. The sign on the feeder at the right indicated that the Lummus Cotton Gin Co. was located in Columbus, Ga. The Davis owned gin was torn down in the 1950s. The area now used to store lumber for Summerour.
