- Allatoona Pass, Bartow County, April 18, 1887. A grouping of the International Association of Car Accountants posed with the locomotive General at Allatoona Pass on the Western and Atlantic railroad in Bartow County, Ga.
This is an albumen print.
02/25/2003: The locomotive, used by the Confederate troops, was involved in the battle of Kennesaw Mountain, June 27, 1864 and was the last train to leave Atlanta when Hood's army evacuated it. On April 13, 1887, the Western and Atlantic railroad offered a special excursion for the families of the members of the International Association of Car Accountants from Chattanooga to Atlanta.
