- Macon, May 1894. Virgil Milton Powers and Annie Jenkins Powers, seated at front, gather with members of their family on the occasion of their fifty-second wedding anniversary. Virgil Powers was very active in Macon affairs. He was a member of the State Railroad commission, the Board of Education, Trustee of the Academy for the Blind, surveyor of the Central Railroad from Macon to Savannah, and a member of the Public Works Commission. Standing, left to right: ?, Annie Powers Malone, Drury Jenkins Powers, Emma Powers Bannon, ?.
