- Description:
- Located at: Scottsboro, Ga.
Two-story wood frame plantation plain style house with two balanced one-story wings on each side projecting toward the rear, which was perhaps originally the front. Both the front of the wings and the sides of the house have exterior end chimneys. The main house and wings form a court. Such an arrangement is less common here than farther north, in Virginia for instance. Destroyed in 1968. For more information see Linley, John. Architecture of Middle Georgia: the Oconee Area. Athens, Ga.: University of Georgia Press, c1972, pp. 108-109.
