Ornate cast iron gate and fence of Rockwell, a two-story wood frame Transitional Federal mansion on a foundation of brick with a high basement, featuring a two-story entrance portico with paired fluted Ionic columns. The pediment of the portico is decorated with a fan ventilator. The balcony over the entrance has an ornate iron railing. The entrance is framed by sidelights and a fanlight transom. The plan of the mansion, the size of its porch, the arched doorway and the circular stair are features similar to the older Milledgeville Federal houses.
