Greek Revival house of frame construction, distinguished by a two-story porch on three sides with Doric columns. The original house was probably built before 1837 by Charles McKinley. The enlarged front and porch were added circa 1850 by Joseph Henry Lumpkin, first chief justice of the Georgia Supreme Court, who lived in the house from 1843 to 1867. In 1906, the house was moved closer to the street. The house has been recognized by the Georgia Historical Marker Program (029-12).
