The frame and clapboarding structure was constructed circa 1844 as a country home for Hanson Scott Estes. The house has a one-story, five bay Doric front porch with a central pediment. The original plan featured a central entrance hall. The italianate wings were added in 1868 by Lloyd Guyton Bowers. For more information, see Linley, John.
