Rectangular brick two-story with raised basement, stone trim and wooden cornice. The house features a five-bay front, hipped roof, and one-story porch. The carriage house, demolished before 1966, was an L-shaped two-story, stuccoed brick structure with a gable roof. The house is distinguished by a brick frieze with dentils, wooden cornice with modillions, floor length windows with iron balconies on each side of the entrance, and open-arms stone steps with a cast-iron railing leading to a stone stoop. The entrance is recessed and features a shouldered architrave stone frame with a cornice decorated with a shell motif. The carriage house had a second story balcony and steps of cast iron. In 1972, stucco was removed from the house, and it was converted to office use. The architect, Button, is known for his extensive work in Philadelphia, New Jersey, and the South, including the Alabama State Capitol. The house remains an integral part of Savannah National Register Historic District. For more information, see Linley, John.
