One-story brick house on a high basement featuring an entrance portico reached by a wide stairway. The portico has a pyramidal roof and entablature supported by two pairs of stout fluted Doric columns. The entablature of the portico features triglyphs. Two chimneys rise from each end of the pitched roof. The entrance is framed by sidelights and transom of rectangular panes. Built for Professor Alexander, the house was sold only a few years later to McGehee. Mrs. Marianna Gallups was the managing director of the Senior Center.
