Two-story rambling brick plantation house with an attic featuring a porch and balcony across the front of the building and a metal roof. The porch is supported by square columns and is enclosed on both levels by a railing. The front facing eave features a fanlight arch window flanked by columns. The center of the house is the original structure, built by Felix and William Gilbert, who moved to this plantation in 1808. Felix Gilbert's son-in-law, Adam Leopold Alexander, added the west wing of brick and later the east wing of frame. In 1934 the house was owned by Mrs. James Goude Wright, a descendant of Adam Leopold Alexander.
