Single story log cabin built of squared hewn logs on a stone pier foundation. Originally a dog-trot cabin until the breezeway was closed off and fitted with a Greek Revival style door frame, with sidelights and transom. The cabin is rectangular, with 2 rooms on each side and an attic overhead, beneath the gable roof. The cabin features four brick end chimneys and a stone stoop.
Several additions; restored to approximately 1864 condition by the National Park Service in 1963. Part of the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park, which preserves and interprets the region where Federal forces, led by Gen. William Sherman, clashed with Confederate forces.
