- Located at: Sandersville, Ga.
Sprawling one-story wood frame house with symetrical wings and attic on foundations which may be the oldest in the area, perhaps dating to Spanish colonial days. The antebellum house on the site burned in the 1870s, and this house was built on the same foundation. The house was remodeled in 1938 and additions were made in 1954, but the impressive size of the rooms has never been altered. At the entrance is a portico with entablature and pediment supported by four Doric columns. For more information see Linley, John. Architecture of Middle Georgia: the Oconee Area. Athens, Ga.: University of Georgia Press, c1972, pp. 127-128.
