Three-story stuccoed brick house with basement featuring a two-story portico with four Greek Corinthian columns between square corner piers. The portico has curved sandstone steps at each end. Lintels are also of sandstone. The balcony railing and gateway are wrought iron. The top story with mansard roof was added about 1895, when the rear porch was closed in and a new portion added. The mansard roof is slate and features a metal deck. New stairs lead up from what was the rear porch. Built by Henry W. McAlpin for Aaron Champion from New England. Champion's daughter married James Wallace McAlpin, son of Henry McAlpin.
