- Located at: 101 Lake Oconee Parkway, Eatonton, Ga.
Opened in 1968, the sprawling one story brick complex housed 50 hospital beds. The facility was renovated in 1989 at a cost of about $4.5 million, including the addition of a specialty center in which various doctors with specialties see patients on certain days. Resources for capital needs such as state-of-the-art medical equipment and improved facilities come from fund raising by the Putnam General Hospital Foundation. A seven-member board, appointed by the Putnam County Commissioners, governs the hospital.
