View of the tower Clara Hall from outside the Ford Complex. Clara Hall, named for Henry Ford's wife, was the first of the Ford buildings to be completed in 1925, a women's dormitory for 100 students. Henry Ford chose his own builders, including several stonemasons from Italy, Antonio Cescutti, Tony Colello, and Romano Pagura, who remained in Rome, Ga. Stones were handpicked from a quarry near U.S. Highway 27. The roof is slate and the spires are copper. Air-conditioning was added to Clara Hall in the early 1990s.
