Brick church featuring a projecting entrance surmounted by a steeple with a cross filial. Gothic Revival pointed arches decorate the entrance and windows. Presbyterians in Penfield erected this House of Worship in the spring of 1876 for $1100. Around the turn of the century, the church was renovated, including the addition of new pews and pulpit furniture, pulpit stand and three pulpit chairs. Memorial windows honoring Johnson Boswell and Eliza Cheney Boswell, founding members of the congregation, were also installed. For more information see Rice, Thaddeus Brockett. History of Greene County, Georgia: 1786-1886. Macon, Ga.: J. W. Burke Company, c1961, p. 239.
