One-story wood frame cottage with attic, featuring dormers on either side of a central gable and a porch across the front of the house supported by slender columns and enclosed by a ballustrade. The entrance features sidelights. Sidney Lanier, the famous poet and musician of the Old South, was born in this Victorian cottage in 1842. For more information, see Nichols, Frederick Doveton.
