Designed and completed by Daniel Pratt, an architect from New England who was active both in Georgia and New Hampshire, Mount Nebo was built for Georgia Governor and former Indian agent David Mitchell. Purchased later by Robert McComb, the house was subsequently named McComb's Mount. Destroyed by fire in 1940, the frame structure had clapboarding, a standing-seam metal roof, and a two-story, three bay portico with Doric and Ionic columns on the first and second floor respectively.
