Constructed beginning in 1962, Hermann Hall was funded by a gift from Grover M. Hermann, a Chicago industrialist. Cooper, Barret, Skinner, Woodbury & Cooper designed the administration building and J.P. Robert & Sons, a Rome contractor, built it. Ten columns support the portico and a clock tower and cupola top the red brick building.
