This two-story wood frame house with external brick chimneys and one-story addition at rear features a two-story portico with entablature supported by four square Doric inspired columns. The small balcony above the entrance is enclosed by a balustrade. Full length windows open onto the porch. The lot was purchased by Judge John Harris in 1831 and sold the house to Dr. Jeptha Melton Cody in 1853. The house was later purchased by James T. Corley, a Covington merchant, who sold the house to Mrs. Amanda M. Edwards, wife of Judge E. F. Edwards, for $7500 in 1887. Later the house was owned by Ferdinand Augustus Briscoe who owned and operated Briscoe Monumental Works. His daughter, Kate Etta Cherry, converted the house into several apartments.
