The Greek Revival home was built by James M. Broadfield in 1854 for Henry Trippe. Above the house's entablature, concealing an almost flat roof, is a heavy parapet. The columns on the porch are fluted Doric ones, and Doric pilasters flank the entrance. After purchasing the home in 1891, Benjamin Hunt, a banker and dairyman, added some Victorian features to the home and restored the house. Later owner Dr. Robert Lott restored the home again in the 1990s.
