Two-story wood frame house featuring a two-story entrance portico with pediment. Balcony and porch are enclosed by a balustrade. Built by Edward Burton around 1836, the Greek Revival home was purchased in 1843 by the Rev. George H. W. Petrie who sold it to Gabriel Toombs, brother of Senator Robert Toombs in 1849. Toombs gave the house to his daughter in 1871. For more information see Newsome, Jane R., ed.
