- PLANTS LATE
Owing to unfavorable ee conditions our plant crops are "unusually taf this season, and some
growers have suffered considerable loss. (ee pe
. 4
Asa result of these conditions this Bureau has shad complaints, which on investigation, it was found
that almost. every case was due to the failure of growers promptly acknowledging orders and duly advis-
ing buyers as to conditions. In some cases it was found also that growers, after acknowledging order and
- later finding that an advance in price had taken place, failed to realize -his obligation of shipping orders
as booked and returned buyer's money, or worse still, pay no attention to such orders or the repeated
requosis of buyers urging shipment. or the immediate return of their money. Such cases are a violation
_ of good business methods, also of the rules governing the use of the columns of the Market Bulletin, and*
when persisted i in the use of same will be denied them.
\
In view of the fact that the season is late, we urge buyers to bear with growers in their unavoidable
situation, as the indications are there will be plants a plenty 1 for all, but in this indulgence the grower
must recognize his obligation of filling orders, both as to price as booked and order of booking, as any
attempt to take advantage of this situation for the purpose advancing price will show bad faith and.
such cases will be handled accordingly, -
We hope ig foes one will do his part in bringing about conditions just to every one alike.
