The following facts concerning the elections are
printed for your information:
Secretary Wallace Monday set October 5 for the
tobacco vote. A two-thirds majority will be needed
to invoke marketing quota festrictions.
Agriculture Department officials have said gov-
ernmental aid to restore a degree of normalcy to
this years shattered market would depend upon
favorable action on sales restrictions in 1940.
Farmers will vote specifically whether they will

ATLANTA, Ga., Sept. 29Spot cotton was
quoted today in Atlanta at 9.53c per pound for
middling white 15/16 inch cotton. The average
price of middling 15/16 inch cotton for the 10
southern designated markets today was 9.05c per.
pound. The premium paid on the 10 market
average was 9 points on for 81/38 inch and 18
points on for 1 inch cotton. 7
