W/*COMMISSLONERS

PUBLISHED BY THE BUREAU OF MARKETSJ. F, GREER, DIRECTOR

STATE CAPITOL ATLANTA, GEORGIA, THURSDAY, JULY 27, 1933. NUMBER 30.

A. Statement

On account of my appointment by the Governor, as

member of the State Highway Board of Georgia, Ihave |

endered my resignation as Director of the State Bureau

f Markets.

4 have been connected with the Department of Ag-
ulture since Governor Talmadge became Commiss-
ner of Agriculture in June 1927, and I have enjoyed

ay work: j in this Department every day since the - I.
irst went in office, and I regret very much that in ac-

epting a position on the Highway Board, makes it nec-
ssary for me to sever my connection with the Depart-
nt of Agriculture and Bureau of Markets.

I think the Bureau of Markets is one of the most im-

portant Departments in the State Government, and is ca- _
pable of rendering, and does render, real service to the
Farmers of Georgia, and it is with a feeling of sadness
that I am leaving the Department that I have been asso-
ciated with for so many years. :

In my new position, as one of the Highway Com-
missioners of Georgia, I pledge to the people of the state
the very best service that I am capable of rendering. This
Department affects every citizen of Georgia and should
be conscientiously and economically administered, and I
feel sure with the present Board, that the people of Geor-
gia will ecenre this kind of service.
