jobs grew by 1,300 in February and employment in the
sector has now grown for three consecutive months.
In spite of a growth of 100 jobs in management of companies and enterprises, the professional and business services sector attributes its 3,300 contraction of jobs to the loss of 2,100 positions in professional, scientific, and technical services and a decrease of 1,300 in administrative and support and waste management and remediation services. Employment in information decreased by 1,500 over the month. Manufacturing shed 1,400 jobs in February as employment in durable goods fell by 1,000 and non-durable goods dropped by 400.
