and then was graduated from Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina and completed further study at --

~ Rev. J. S. Wright pastored for many years in his hometown, and in 1965 he was called to pastothre Macedonia

Baptist Church, Augusta, Georgia. While at Macedonia, the Lord blessed Rev. Wright with a vision leading
I him to work diligently to increasthee church's membership, formulate financial stability and created a mecca~

- for spiritual growth. Through his leadership and obedience to God's Word, the church grew to overflowing ~

fj Rev. Wright was a loveorf people, a practitioner of what he preached. He was humble and a hard worker--

_ who denounced failure. He was dynamic leader who firmly believeidn preaching, teaching, educating and

evangelism. Rev. Wright believed in service to God's people and therefore served as the Moderator of the
Il Walker Baptist Association for 25 years. After his tenure he was given the honorable title of "moderator

emeritus". Rev. Wright served as the Treasureforr the General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia -

Congress of Christian Education for many years. Other capacities of service were: Member of the Advisory

Councilof GracSe tatw e Scohoool ad nd Hospitalan;d member of thOeIA Executive Board.

_ the late James and Carrie Wright, entered into rest Novembe23r, 2009 at hisresidence in Augusta, Georgia.
| He was united in holy matrimony to the late Ms. Sarah Grisby who preceded him in death. To this union of ; 64 yearstw,o children were born, Joyce W. (Johnny R.) Hatney and Samuel T. (Wilhelmina) Wright. One
