MRS. BARBARA BAILEY WILLIAMS, the wife of the late
Charlie M. Williams, departed this life on November 27, 2018, at
the Azalea Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born March 20, 1933, to the late Robert Bailey, Sr. and
Lillie M. Bailey in Augusta, Georgia.
Barbara grew up in Augusta on Tenth Street with her sisters, Katie
and Ethel, who were affectionately called the Bailey girls and a
younger brother, Robert Jr. At an early age, she was baptized at
Bethel A.M.E. Church, where she was a dedicated member for over
sixty years.
She was educated in the Richmond County School System.
Barbara was well known having worked for many years as a
cashier at the Gwinnett Pharmacy Drug Store and the Gurleys
Supermarkets in the area. She was a clerk typist at the Pilgrim Life
Insurance Company where she was selected as Miss Pilgrim.
She leaves to celebrate her life: devoted and only daughter, Mrs.
Andrea C. (Charles) Johnson; devoted brother, Mr. Robert (Sandra)
Bailey, Jr.; devoted granddaughter, Mrs. Keisha J. (Corey) Cole;
great'grandsons, Mr. Eric Grant and Mr. Corey Cole, Jr.; brother'
in-law, Mr. Wilbert Gallop, Sr.; nieces, Mrs. Janice Henderson, Mrs.
Joetta Lynn Littles, Ms. Gloria M. Gallop, Mrs. Melvenia (Henry)
Sparks, Ms. Veronica Tutt, Ms. Valarie Tutt and Ms. Leann Tutt;
nephews, Mr. Gregory Aldridge, Mr. Wilbert (Tracy) Gallop, Jr.,
Mr. Carlton (Tanya) Gallop, Mr. Bruce (Tabitha) Gallop, Mr. Paul
(Linda) Simmons, Mr. Louis Tutt, Mr. Timothy Tutt, Mr. Jimmy
Tutt and Mr. Lawrence Tutt; great'nieces and nephews; and a
host of other relatives, godchildren and dear friends.
