OBITUARY
Mr. Tom Steele, Sr., was born June 30, 1930, in Jenkins County, Georgia. His parents, Mr. Grant Steele and Mrs. Lola Simpkins Steele, preceded him in death. Mr. Steele made his home in Emanuel County for 41 years. He spent many productive years as a farmer. He departed this life on September 15, 1997, at Twin View Nursing Center, following a lengthy illness.
The memory arid legacy of his life will remain with his wife, Mrs. Ackines Gaines Steele Twin City, GA; ten children: Tom Steele, Jr., Virginia A. Morris, Eilene S. Bady, Louise Steele, Shirley Randall, Patricia Steele, Oscar Steele, Toney Steele, Johnny Steele - Twin City, GA; David Steele - Savannah, GA; eight step-children: Hattie Carlyle, Susie Gatson, Tracy Steele, Latricia Steele, Willie Steele - Twin City, GA; Derrick Steele - Virginia; Ike McKinney, Jr. - South Carolina; Hattie Perry - Vero Beach. FL.
Three sisters: Corrine Boatwright and Willie Mae Rountree - Millen, GA; Ola Woods Waynesboro, GA; two brothers: Henery Steele Statesboro, GA; Roosevelt Steele - Millen, GA.
Three sisters-in-law: Authur Bell Rountree, Ella Mae Steele - Twin City, GA; Nina Steele Millen, GA; two brothers-in-law: Elton Rountree Twin City, GA; John Gains - Vero Beach, FL; five sons-in-law: Oscar Thomas Carlyle, Troy Randall, Jule Bady, Jr., Eugene Gatson - Twin City, GA; Pam Perry - Vero Beach, FL; one daughter-in-law: Alberta Steele - Savannah, GA; 30 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
