Reverend Charles Smith, Officiating
Hrs. Qeorgia gmitfi, affectionately called "G.G."
by family and friends, was bom October 28, 1914, in
Savannah, Georgia to the late Lillian Strobridge and Charlie
Strobridge. She attended the public schools in Savannah
(Chatham County), Georgia.
Mrs. Georgia Smith made her home in Jacksonville, Florida
for many years. She loved, enjoyed, and shared many
happy and bonding community ties in Jacksonville. Many
of her Jacksonville friends have preceded her in death.
Mrs. Smith relocated to Augusta, Georgia in 1974 to be
with and care for her son and granddaughter. She
associated herself in the community again, establishing
special bonding relationships with a significant number of
people. She joined Elim Baptist Church in 1975 and
became active with the Senior Mission. Mrs. Smith
remained active and regular in attendance until her illness.
She leaves to cherish her memories: a devoted son, Ret.
Warrant Officer, William E. Brown, Augusta, GA; a
devoted granddaughter, Mrs. Rooney (Kimberly) Gray,
Fairbanks, Alaska; a great-granddaughter, Courtney Gray,
Alaska; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Annette Brown; and a host
of other relatives and friends.

"But if you try and fail in your trying,
hands sore and scarred from the work you've begun;
Take up your cross
Run quickly to meet Him;
He'll understand
He'll say, "mil Done."

Mother
It saddens our hearts that you left us,
We watched you slip away.
It hurts so much to let you go,
VJhen you fought so hard to stay.
But when you said you wanted to go home,
It was time to set you free,
Knowing that we will meet again,
In God's eternity.

Don' t grieve for me, for now V m free
I'm following the path God has laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play,
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found peace at the end of the day.
If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joys.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Oh yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow,
My life's been full, I savored much,
Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don't lengthen it ncno with undue grief
Lift up your hearts, and share with me,
God wanted me NOW, He has set me free.
