O God, who art the Father of all, we give you thanks
for the life and ministry of the Reverend Dr. Charles E.
Smith.
Lord, we thank you and praise your name.
With thanksgiving, we remember his nearly twenty-one
years of service to this church and community.
Lord, God our Father, we thank you and give you praise.
We remember affectionately his spiritual leadership, his
sermons, his wise counsel, his sincerity, his honesty and
personal friendship.
For all these, we thank you, O Lord, and bless your
name.
We cherish the memory of his Bible teachings, the zeal
he had for the Lord, and his encouragement to always
trust God.
We thank you, Lord and praise your name.
Lord, we thank you for his Christian family who is a
great example to all who know them.
Lord, we thank you for the Smith family.
Lord, bless the ministry of Rev. Smith in such a way
that our church will follow his teachings and emulate
his life.
Lord, have mercy upon us.
Now, may the remembrance of Rev. Smith be a joy to
our hearts and lives, and strength to our church. May
the peace and grace of God be with us always, through
Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
