1:00 P.M.
YOU WONDER WHY I WENT AWAY AND DIDNT SAY GOOD-BYE.
I COULDNT BEAR TO TELL YOU FOR IT HURTS ME WHEN YOU CRY.
My ship came in the night and beautiful to see.
For the captain was King Jesus and He beckoned to me.
I RAN ACROSS THE LEEWAY AND FELL DOWN AT HlS FEET.
He gently took me in His arms,
My rest is now complete.
-The Family -
If I have helped somebody as I passed along, then my living has not been in vain."
An earthly journey ended on Monday, November 14, 2016, when Louise G. Rainey quietly slept into eternity.
Born August 23,1927 in Augusta, Georgia to the Late Eula Gibbs and Harold B. Greene, Louise was vibrant and full of life
and ambition. She never met a stranger and her laughter was contagious. Louise was always a lady.
She was a member of the Class of 1947 of Augustus R. Johnson High School. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in
Education from Paine College in 1951, and her Master of Arts in Elementary Education from New York University in 1958.
In 1953, Louise was crowned Miss Omega.
Louise accepted Christ as Savior and united with Macedonia Baptist Church in the late 1930s. She was a dedicated member
and served on the Lucy Daniel Missionary Circle, as well as, lifted God in praise as a member of the Robert Lamar Chorus.
She loved to sing.
Believing marriage to be ordained by God, she united with Lieutenant George W. Frierson June 13,1967. Together they
were raising her son, Kenneth.
Her ambition was to be a social worker, but she took greater joy in teaching children. Louises career in the field of education
extended to a 33 year mission in the class room. Mrs. Rainey was even honored as teacher of the year in 1957. Louise taught
at Ursula Collins Elementary and later would be among those to integrate the Richmond County School System as a
teacher at Roy E. Rollins Elementary.
Her community activities included but were not limited to the Downtown Cooperative Church Ministries, Richmond
County Teachers Association, National Education Association, Richmond County Retired Teachers Association, The
American National Red Cross, Club Debonair and Blessed Be the Tie That Binds.
Louise found love again and united in Holy Matrimony with Roosevelt Rainey on June 28, 1975. They had a Love that
endured! They would become avid travelers and enjoyed spending time spoiling the grands. She was fondly called Granny
Louise.
Louise had an endearing love for family. That love was spread to her sixteen nieces and nephews. She was their beloved
Auntie! Family gatherings were always at her home and Christmas was the BEST! She loved to cook and entertain and
expected you to join in or step aside!
Louise was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and only brother, William G. Johnson, Sr.
For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building
of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. ' 2 Corinthians 5:1

Please dont say I gave up, just say that I gave in,
Dont say I lost the battle, for it was Gods war to lose or win;
Please dont say how good I was, but say I did my best.
Just say I tried to do whats right, to give the most I could, not less;
Please dont give me wings or halos, thats for God to do;
I WANT NO MORE THAN I DESERVE, NO EXTRA, JUST MY DUE.
Please dont give me flowers or talk in real hushed tones.
Dont be concerned about me now,
Im well with God, Ive made it home.
Dont talk about my illness, its over and its done.
Just see to all my familys needs, especially the little ones.
When you draw a picture of me, dont draw me as a saint.
Ive done some good, Ive done some wrong, so use all the colors you can paint.
Not just bright and light tones, use some gray and dark;
In fact dont put me down on canvas, paint me in your heart.
Remember all the good times... remember all the bad;
For life is full of many things, some happy and some sad...
But if you must do something, then I have one request.
Forgive me for any wrong Ive done, and with the love thats left,
Thank God for my souls resting, thank God for Ive been blessed,
Thank God for all who loved me, praise God who loves me best!
