her 80th birthday, Juanita stated the following:
I never dreamed Id live to be 80, because as
a young mother, my only prayer was that God
allow me to live long enough to see my three
children grow up and God was certainly faithful
to her prayer!
She was preceded in death by her parents,
her husband, a sister, Marian Ruth Birts, and
her grandson, Brandon E. Ratliff; while leaving
to cherish her love and memory: a son, Mr.
Anthony T. (Eunice) Potter, Pennsauken, New
Jersey; a daughter, Dr. Pamela P. (Dr. Eugene
F.) Ratliff, Glen Allen, Virginia; a son, Mr. Kevin
B. (Janice) Birts, Atlanta, Georgia. Siblings
include a supportive and dedicated sister,
Mrs. Bernice (Bennie) Pope, Aiken, S.C. and
faithful sister and primary caregiver, Ms. Edith
M. Birts, Langley, South Carolina; seven very
special grandchildren, Dr. Emeri Potter, Wendell
Ratliff, Briana Ratliff, Keashia Birts, Autumn
Birts, Renalle Davis, and Montre Scales; 6
great-grandchildren, and a host of fond nieces,
nephews and other relatives and friends. Special
caregivers include Connie and Regina of Believe
Homecare, Warrenville, S.C.
Juanita was truly a light! When in her presence
one could not help but experience her pleasant
personality, love, genuineness, giving heart,
compassion, and, overall, beautiful spirit! She
will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved
her.

God looked around his garden
And found an empty place.
He then looked down upon the earth,
And saw your tired face.
He put His arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
Gods garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering,
He knew that you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb.
So He closed your weary eyelids
And whispered Peace be thine.
It broke our hearts to lose you
But you did not go alone...
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.
prayers, telephone calls, visits, and other act of
kindness during our time of sorrow. May God bless
each and every one of you.
