Y
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall Ifear? the Lord is the strength
of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies and
my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. Though an
host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise
against me, in this will I be confident. One thing have I desired of the Lord, that
will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple. For in the time
of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall
he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. And now shall mine head be lifted
up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle
sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord. Hear, O Lord,
when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me. When
thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek.
Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been
my help; leave me pot, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation. When my
father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up. Teach me thy
way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies. Deliver me
not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against
me, and such as breathe out cruelty. I had fainted, unless I had believed to see
the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord: be of good
courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

BRO. WILLIAM MORGAN, JR. was born in Edgefield, South Carolina on May 12, 1936 to the late
William Morgan, Sr. and Elizabeth Oliphant Morgan. He departed this life on January 28, 2015.
The family later moved to New York where at an early age he was converted and baptized at Ebenezer
Baptist Church in Corona, New York.
He attended the public schools of New York and was a graduate of Brooklyn Automotive High School.
After high school, he joined the military where he served four years in the United States Army. After
the military, he worked for the New York Transit driving a bus, several years after which he was
transferred and retired as a New York Transit Police.
Jeff moved to Augusta, Georgia in 1980 and was employed with the Richmond County Sheriffs
Department as an Investigator, where he served for thirty-two years.
He was united in holy matrimony to Patricia Pat Thomas Graham on November 17, 1985.
He united with Good Shepherd Baptist Church on September 16, 1990 and served faithfully on the
Trustee Ministry, E. M. McIntyre Chorus, Combined Choir and the AARP Choir. He also worked
with the Interfaith Ministry and attended Wednesday night and Saturday morning Bible Studies.
He along with others, co-chaired the Marriage Ministry. He received many awards for his dedicated
services rendered.
He was a fun-loving person with a great personality, who brought smiles to everyone that he came in
contact with.
Jeff leaves to cherish his memories: a loving, devoted wife, Patricia Pat Morgan; two sons, Jeffrey
Morgan of Long Island, New York and Owen (Jerrie) Graham of Stone Mountain, Georgia; two
aunts, Mildred Springs of Johnston, South Carolina and Rose (Jimmy) Bethea of Richmond, Virginia;
six grandchildren, Kia, KiEshia, Latoya, Charles Derrick, William Casey and Moses; three great
grandchildren, Autumn, Tristan and Victor; three sisters-in-law, Gail (Abe) Jones of Orlando, Florida,
Connie Thomas of Raleigh, North Carolina and Kimberly Thomas of Norfolk, Virginia; four brothers-
in-law, Paul Thomas of Brooklyn, New York, Mark Thomas of Springfield Gardens, New York, Dale
Thomas of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Jeffrey Thomas of Orlando, Florida; and a host of nieces,
nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

One night I had a dream
I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord
and across the sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints,
one belonged to me and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that many times along the path of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest
and saddest times in my life.
This really bothered me and I questioned the Lord about it.
Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you,
you would walk with me all the way,
but I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life
there is only one set of footprints.
I dont understand why in times when I needed you most,
you should leave me.
The Lord replied, My precious, precious child,
I love you and I would never, never leave you
during your times of trial and suffering.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you.

When I am gone, release me, let me go ...
I have so many things to see and do.
You musnt tie yourself to me with tears.
Be happy that we had so many beautiful years.
I gave to you my love, you can only guess
How much you gave to me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you each have shown,
But now its time I traveled on alone.
So grieve a while for me, if grieve you must.
Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
Its only for a while that we must part,
So bless the memories within your heart.
I wont be far away, for life goes on.
So if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you cant see or touch me Ill be near,
And if you listen with your heart youll hear,
All my love around you soft and clear;
And then, when you must come this way alone...
