Sdna Beatrice Jones McKie
Think of her as living,
in the heart of those she touched,
For nothing loved is ever lost,
and she was loved so much.
Born to the late Willie Thomas Jones an
Ethel Davis Jones on November 22, 1926!
Augusta (Richmond County), Georgia, M|
Edna Beatrice Jones McKie is the third of:
children from this union. Three siblings prl
ceded her in death; Mary Jones Williams, Ma|
garet Jones Lester and Willie James Jones.
Edna grew up and lived in the Sand Hilll
community of Augusta, Georgia. At an earl}
age, she accepted Christ and was baptized atl
Elina Baptist Church by the late Reverend R. LJ
Boyd. She married her classmate and neigh-
borhood friend, the late Lewis Bootsy
McKie whom she met while at Weed Academy.
To this union, one son, Lewis Regynal McKie
was born. Additionally, she attended the
Haines Normal and Industrial Institute and
Phillips Business College where she focused on

by the Richmond County School System and
the Pilgrim Health and Life Insurance Com-
pany as part of the clerical staff. Throughout
her life, Edna was an avid walker and enjoyed
working in her yard.

Christ. She leaves to cherish her memories:

Our family circle has been broken;
A link gone from our chain;
But though were parted for a while;
We know well meet again.
Some day, we know not when;
We shall meet in a better land;
And never part again.
We shall meet with many a loved one;
That was torn from our embrace;
We shall listen to their voices;
And behold them face to face.
Sunshine passes, shadows fall;
Loves remembrance outlasts all.
