THE OBITUARY
MR. GEORGE EMORY McCLENDON was born February 28, 1910 to the parentage of Mrs. Viola L. Sapp and the late Mr. Clifford McClendon in Ellaville, Georgia.
He departed this life, July 30, 1992.
Mr. Mack as he was fondly called was an active member of Steward Chapel, serving as a soloist in the Senior Choir, the Steward Board, the Hattie Mitchell Missionary Society, the Sunday School department and the Pastors Aid Board .
He attended and graduated from the Georgia Academy for the Blind. He earned a degree from the Fort Valley State College and West Virginia State College, thereby qualifying him as an Instructor for the Academy for the Blind. He retired after teaching for thirty/two years. He was a member of the Blind and Physically Handicapped Club of Georgia, of which he was treasurer.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Mrs. Florine B. McClendon; his mother, Mrs. Viola Sapp; one adopted daughter, Mrs. Jeannette Austin of Newark, N.J.; three step-children, Rev. John Brown, Americus, G-a. , Michael Brown, Macon, Miss Susie Brown of Dalton, G a.; Devoted cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hosley of Ellaville, Ga. and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Mack, Jacksonville, FL. and a host of other r-elatiyes and friends.
