Charles Albert LeValle was born on April 11, 1936, inSylvania,
GA. He was the first of seven children of the late Colonel
LeValle Jr. and Sadie Royal LeValle. He was also preceded
in death by two brothers, Carl LeValle, Sr., and Matthew C.
LeValle and his great grandson Malachi July. He entered into
rest on February 4, 2014. Charles was educated in the public
schools of Screven County, GA, graduating from Screven
County Training School (later renamed Central High School)
in 1953.
After graduation, Charles entered Savannah State
College (University). After one year he enlisted in the United
States Air Force for four years. He received an honorable
discharge, and returned home to Augusta, GA. where his
family then resided. There he was employed by the Pilgrim
Health and Life Insurance Company in where he entered into
training to become an insurance agent. After successfully
completing this program and obtaining licensure, Charles
worked as an agent for a short time before he was promoted
to the position of District Manager. He worked in this position
in Charleston, South Carolina and Jacksonville, Florida
before being promoted to the position of Manager of the
Southeast District which included Georgia, Florida, Alabama,
and South Carolina. Charles' tenure with Pilgrim Health
and Life Insurance Company ended when the company was
sold to North Carolina Mutual Life Insurance Company at
which time he accepted a position with Prudential Insurance
Company as a group insurance representative.
In 1976, Charles enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves where
he obtained the rank of First Sergeant. After many years as a
reservist, he suffered a debilitating illness and was discharged
for medical reasons. Charles was forced to retire from his
chosen profession and the Army Reserves because of health
reasons but he still kept busy. He used his considerable skills
in painting, carpentry, and auto mechanics as a means to
supplement his retirement income.
He leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters, Bonita
Walter, and Stephanie (Marcus) Grant; two sons, Charles A.
LeValle II, and Marc L. LeValle; two grandchildren, Jamika D.
July, and Mason G. Harris; three great-grandchildren, Josiah,
Jeremiah and Eden; two brothers, Colonel (Pat) LeValle
and Joseph LeValle; two sisters, Shirley (Glenn) Markle and
Thedoshia (Benny) Brown; two aunts, Julia Krone and Eula
Walters; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
SOMEBODY CARES AND ALWAYS WILL,
THE WORLD FORGETS BUT GOD LOVES YOU STILL.
YOU CANNOT GO BEYOND HIS LOVE
NO MATTER WHAT YOU'RE GUILTY OF-
FOR GOD FORGIVES UNTIL THE END
HE IS YOUR FATHER, LOYAL FRIEND.
AND THOUGH YOU TRY TO HIDE YOUR FACE
THERE IS NO SHELTER ANY PLACE
THAT CAN ESCAPE HIS WATCHFUL EYE,
FOR ON THE EARTH AND IN THE SKY.
HES EVER PRESENT AND ALWAYS THERE
TO TAKE YOU IN HIS TENDER CARE.
AND BIND THE WOUNDS AND MEND THE BREAKS,
WHEN ALL THE WORLD AROUND FORSAKES...
SOMEBODY CARES AND LOVES YOU STILL,
AND GOD IS THE SOMEONE WHO ALWAYS WILL!
