Ellihue Gaskin Lanham
Ellihue Gaskin Lanham was bom to the late David and Minnie Lanham in
Augusta, Georgia on August 31, 1952. He was the fifth of ten siblings. At an
early age, he was baptized and became a member of Elim Baptist Church. He
was faced with the responsibility of taking care of the household with his five
younger siblings after the death of their mother. He continued to instill the
values and responsibilities his parents stressed in the family, especially the
importance of an education.
Ellihue graduated from John M. Tutt High School and Paine College earning a
Bachelor of Arts degree in 1974. A portion of his work experience was at Paine
College where he served as Assistant/Director of Financial Aid from 1976
through 1978. He also managed his personal care home, and was employed
with the Augusta National Golf Course for 20 years.
His enjoyments and hobbies were reading, politics, carpentry, fishing and other
sports and family events. His most exciting time was during the annual Augusta
Masters Tournament week.
Ellihue is survived by his wife, Sharon Lanham of 40 years, a son and daughter,
DeMarcus and Brittany Lanham, a grandson, DeMarcus Gaskin Lanham
(mother Cinney Patterson); siblings, David (Hattie) Lanham, Mozelle (Marvin)
Cummings, Pauline (Theodore) Webb, Raymond (Zettie) Lanham, Dorothy
(Lester) Young, Willie (Loretta) Lanham, Clora (Ronnie) Lewis, Minnie (Keith)
Whitaker, Ellis (Stephanie) Lanham, and a host of nephews, nieces, other
relatives and friends.
Acknowledgements
We, the Lanham family would like to express our
deepest gratitude and sincere thanks. Perhaps you
sent a lovely card or beautiful flowers. Perhaps
you spoke the kindest words, as any friend could
say. Whatever you did to console our hearts we
thank you so very much as we continue to get
through this difficult day.

God saw the road was getting rough
The hills were hard to climb.
He gently close those lovtag eyes
And whispered, "Peace BmThine."
The weary hours, th^flTys of pain,
The sleepless nigh^Vre passed.
The ever patient worn out frame
Has found sweet rest at last.
A precious one from us is gone
A voice we loved is still.
A place is vacant in our home
Which never cairbe filled.
