HYMN 648
JAMES MONTGOMERY, 1825
g,
if/
Servant of God, well done!
Rest from thy loved employ!
The battle fought, the victory won,
Enter thy Masters joy.
The voice at midnight came,
He started up to hear;
A MORTAL ARROW PIERCED HIS FRAME,
He fell, but felt no fear.
The pains of death are past,
Labour and sorrow cease;
And lifes long warfare closed at last,
His soul is found in peace.
Soldier of Christ, well done!
Praise be thy new employ;
And while eternal ages run,
Rest in thy Saviours joy.

OSCAR LEE KEMP heard the voice on
February 24, 2016 and answered peacefully
and quietly, without hesitation or fear, at
the University Hospital Emergency Room in
Augusta Georgia.
He was born on April 14,1930, to Oscar and
Georgie Lee Moore Kemp of Clearwater, South
Carolina. He received his early education
in the primary and elementary schools of
the area. He was a 1948 graduate of Haines
Industrial Institution in Augusta, GA Later
he studied at Benedict College in Columbia,
SC and earned a Bachelors of Science Degree
in Biology in 1953. He received a Master of
Science from South Carolina State College
and did additional studies at the University of
Wisconsin.
At an early age he joined the Old Storm
Branch Baptist Church in Clearwater, SC
where he was affiliated with the choir, usher
board, bible study for youth and Memorial
and Beautification Ministry. Later he was ordained as a deacon and served as Chairman of
the Deacon Board during Reverend Irvins first years as pastor. For over fifty years he served
as Superintendent of Sunday School and was still serving at the time of his death. He was
a dedicated religious leader of Old Storm Branch serving with the Missionary Ministry, the
Male Chorus, Sunday School teacher, and Bible study. His great love was the old sanctuary,
The Beautiful Front, where he was baptized. His favorite quote was the motto inscribed over
the pulpit Teaching Them to Observe All Things Whatsoever I Command You. He would
repeat this every Sunday. Oscar Kemp was noted for his religious and comical Quotes...
I would rather see a sermon any day than hear one
Watch as well as pray
Dont let your right hand know what your left hand does
You dont want me to have to use this African Soup Bone
God is going to bless you for taking care of old people.
They that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up on wings as
eagles. They shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31
There is a time and place for all things.
What time is it? - Its time to eat.
\ Time waits for no man. Time is a factor.
We have been fed a good meal it is now time to digest it
\ \ Put a little sugar in the coffee

YOU WERE SENT FROM HEAVEN ABOVE.
A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF Gods UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.
Now, God has called his angel home.
Let us not weep and moan.
Your gentle spirit wrapped us with warm joy.
It is sad to see one of Gods soldiers deploy.
We know that we will all see you again.
Can someone tell us when?
Let us celebrate your life, because
You HAVE PUT UP A SPECTACULAR FIGHT.
YOU WERE ALWAYS WILLING AND READY.
God is now holding you gently and steady.

All cares and troubles I will leave behind,
As I climb the golden stair.
Theres a light at the end of the tunnel,
There to meet my Lord face to face.
And Ill be in the home that I longed for,
Saved by His heavenly grace.
