SAMUEL DEWAYNE JACKSON lived a life of love and honor. Affectionately known as "DJack" to his friends, "Wayne-Wayne" to his niece, and "Papa" to his grandchildren, he was loved and respected by so many people for whom he reciprocated that same love. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his bike community. He loved the Lord.
Dewayne's true passion in life was riding his Harley and socializing. A man of strong convictions, he did not sway, nor did he falter in voicing his opinions and beliefs. CNN, MSNBC, and FOX News brought out unbridled expressions of those beliefs every day. He always made a point of showing his family and his friends that he loved them very much.
Always available to lend a helping hand and to make sure that you were okay, he would quickly ask, "You good?" and genuinely would
do anything to make sure you were. He was the "cool dude" who knew
how to have a good time and made sure those around him didas well.
At eight years-old, he was gifted with his first pony, a Shetland named,
Rocky, and at nine, his first dirt bike; Dewayne always enjoyed the
open road. He had admired his uncle's Soft Tail Harley for years, so he bought it. Soon afterwards, Dewayne co-founded the Two Wheeled Rascals Motorcycle Club. He was devoted to his bike and his club. That is why his returning to riding his Harley after his body healed was no surprise, despite his near fatal motorcycle accident in 2018. Oh, how passionately he rode!
Samuel Dewayne Jackson was born on July 31, 1974, the younger of
two children born to the union of Samuel David and Thelma Stokes Jackson, at St. Joseph Hospital, in Augusta, Georgia.
Dewayne accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. He was
a 1992 graduate of Westside High School and attended Augusta
University, formerly known as Augusta College. In addition, he was an employee at Westlake Country Club several years before he joined the family business. Unlike his father, he was never interested in "boring" insurance sales, but Dewayne's adrenaline led him to other aspects of the business. Therefore, he began working as an Independent Contractor, repossessing vehicles and later transitioned to selling cars.
Samuel Dewayne Jackson departed this life on Sunday, August 21, 2022. He was preceded in death in 1987 by his mother, Thelma Stokes __ Jackson, and in 2000 by his father, Samuel David Jackson.
He leaves to cherish his memory: sister, Miranda Jackson Knox of Augusta, GA; niece, Gavin Gabrielle Knox of Fort Valley, GA; daughter, Jasmine Howard of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Terrell Bookert, Taelynn Bookert, and Tanaree Bookert, all of Columbia, SC; sister, Kendra (Brandon) Ricks of Baton Rouge, LA; and a host of sorrowing uncles, aunts, cousins, relatives, and friends.
HE `BROKEN CHAN
We little knew that day, God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly, Indeath, we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you. You did not go alone.
For part of us went with you, The day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories, Your love is still our guide.
And although we cannot see you, You are always at our side.
Ourfamily chain is broken, And nothing seems the same, But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.
